We have an influx of people, things start going in the right direction and then we flat line rapidly. So I figured I'd ask the few of you lurking around here what you think would make the site more fun for you?

Personally I am working on updates to the profiles I just launched, more social and mobile features and a new store you can use your NSL Points at to buy colored user titles, change your username, etc. Updates on progress of those will be available when I have something to show off.

Not only can users rearrange the default blocks, they can... The long awaited NSL Profile system has been launched. After 3 years of work, the new system is finally live. This new profile system allows users to completely customize how their profile layout appears creating unlimited possibilities. Not only can users rearrange the default blocks, they can create unlimited custom blocks with anything in them they'd like. Users can even include Youtube videos in their profile. You also are allowed to create entirely new sub pages, available under the "My Pages" tab, on which you can include any block you'd like. This means you can have entire pages full of images, youtube videos, or whatever you want.

The new profiles also launch with user status updates, blogs, e-friends and many other new features. A carousel of the users latest pieces is also available in the header of each profile. Even this is customizable, allowing you to show off more work by hiding the social actions panel and there is also options to set which album the script pulls the pieces displayed from.

This system brings many systems introduced in NSL V3 to the forefront, including the point league, social actions and user albums. Now others can easily go through your gallery of work, leave comments and become fans of your pieces. There is also an option to become fans of users for use in the future NSL Feed.

Also included are user lists. This system allows you to completely customize how your profile appears down to each user on NSL. Do you want to hide a specific block from a user? Show something only to your fans? It's possible.

Out of the fluff and back to reality... There's currently some limitations you need to be aware of.

Currently there is no way to accept friend requests and this renders the user lists nonfunctional. The area to accept them is part of the NSL Feed which is coded but needs more polishing. I will be working on getting that ready next.

Next, there is no way to edit blogs, custom blocks or custom pages once made. If you want to edit, you must delete and remake. I want to take the time to create inline editing like posts here currently are and didn't have time to look into how vBulletin handles that. I will work on editing tools.

Another thing to note is the system is heavily cached. Due the amount of data packed into a page, I had to create a system to cache a lot of the blocks or it would grind the site to a halt. You will definitely notice a considerable lag on the initial load of your page as the system scrambles to cache things. It should improve after that. As a result of this, some things will end up out of sync. You may become a fan of a piece and it won't show up, you may gain points and the action doesn't show up. Rest assured it will when the cache times out.

There is many improvements that can be made to these pages and I am already in the process of changing some things that bother me. I could baby this system for many more months and not launch it here but after 3 years I feel it is good enough to let you guys play with.

I will be writing up guides on the pages when I get time. Go and explore for now and let me know if you have questions or problems.

In addition to this launch, many bugs were fixed and several other new features were released. The change log for those interested is below.

• Message area box is no longer grey when in WYSIWYG mode making it impossible to see what you are typing.
• Fixed several missing images in the explode skin.
• Fixed consecutive login bonus which wasn't resetting when you didn't visit 5 days in a row.
• Fixed numerous display issues with notifications including failing to show an avatar for some notifications and half missing text for others.
• Banned members are no longer considered staff.
• Reflections now render in IE9 and Chrome.
• Custom forumjump setup for NSL V3 skin is no longer running on explode skin.
• News and NSL Pulse now renders on error pages.
• Fixed Division based standings display which was entirely broken. It was somehow still using NSL V2 templating.
• Fixed uncached templates on several standings pages.
• Added message if no division based standings records are available rather than showing a broken blank table.
• Fixed count of total teams on team standings (was off by 1).
• Last 5 battles on team pages now alternate background color like they were suppose to.
• Pieces in the team gallery header carousal now display a generic title if one is not available because otherwise there is no way to link to them.
• Navigation buttons now display the pointer cursor on team pages.
• Status comment usernames are now linked to profile pages.
• Complicated code for status comment posting/fetching has been entirely rewritten to be more externally accessible and to support blog comments making it even more complicated. Yay!
• Fixed a variable undefined error generated when posting new status comments on team pages.
• Fixed issue with comment reply boxes spawning in locations that didn't make sense.
• Fixed issue with status comment reply boxes not deleting themselves after a reply.
• Fixed issue with repeating of the root status comments in the dom that was causing several weird issues.
• You can now unhide child comments when you hide them.
• I think I fixed the retired staff / alternating postbit issue velocity reported (haven't heard back). Despite my best efforts I couldn't reproduce it except when posting in a battle thread. There really shouldn't be a way to trigger the bug outside of battle threads but I am aware it was reported to be occurring outside of them. Here's to hoping the changes I made to stop the issue in battle threads will also stop them elsewhere.
• Fixed the display of users Large Piece class in threads.
• Added in the display of the users current rank in the point league on posts if you are displaying 10 posts per page (default). Limited because this requires the sorting of large amounts of data.
• Added in Cool Story Bro buttons. Facebook like buttons with a much cooler name! Unfortunately there's no way to see the users who liked something beyond the initial 3 but I work on changing that.
